I · Our Story

How Mulls & Muslins began.

A note on softness, and why we started looking for it.

The Beginning

It started with a kurta of my mother's — a soft mull, twenty years old, that I pulled out one summer. It was lighter and softer than anything I'd bought in the last five years.

That bothered me. I'd been picking up "cotton" kurtas for a while — and most of them felt stiff, warm, and rough by the third wash. So I started asking around.

The fabric hadn't disappeared. Real mull and muslin are still being woven in small clusters across India. They just weren't being made into everyday kurtas anymore.

Mulls & Muslins started there. The idea was simple — bring those soft cottons back into everyday wear.

Real cotton. Made for the
way you actually live.

What we believe

A kurta should be comfortable first. Pretty, well-cut, well-priced — all of that follows.

We believe in cotton you can name — mull, muslin, slub, voile — not the vague "premium fabric" label that tells you nothing. We believe in honest pricing and honest sizing. And we believe softness deserves a place at the front of your cupboard, not the back.

The 9-to-9 rule

Every piece we bring you is built around one question: can you wear this from nine in the morning to nine at night without thinking about it?

Soft enough for the early meeting. Breathable enough for the commute. Easy enough to step out for dinner in. That's the test.

Where it comes from

Our fabrics come from weaver clusters across India — places where mull, muslin, and soft cotton are still being woven by hand.

We work closely with the textile partners who still know how to bring these weaves to life, and we curate the edit carefully — fabric by fabric, colour by colour. Every cloth is chosen by hand before it ever earns a tag.

Softness, at the front of your cupboard.

A note from the founder

Mulls & Muslins started quietly, as something I wanted to wear myself and couldn't find. It's still small. It's still personal.

If you're new here — welcome. Take your time. The softness speaks for itself. ✦
